This document covers the ReptiDiary mobile app (Android). The reptimarket.pl website has its own privacy policy — if you use both, both documents apply.
1. Who processes your data
The data controller is the operator of the ReptiMarket service, identified on our contact page. For any data protection matter, write to the address listed there.
2. Your account
ReptiDiary has no separate sign-up — you log in with the same account as on reptimarket.pl. The app uses your name, email address, optionally a phone number, and your current plan. Signing in with Google or Apple happens in a browser window; the app only receives confirmation of your identity and your email address, never your password.
3. Data you enter yourself
The app is a husbandry diary. We store what you enter:
- animal records — name, species, morph, sex, hatch date, origin, your own identifiers, chip number,
- care entries — feedings and refusals, sheds, defecations, weight and length measurements, notes, vet visits,
- housing — rooms, racks, enclosures and positions within them,
- breeding — pairings, clutches, offspring,
- documents you attach yourself.
This data is stored on our server so it survives a change of phone and so it is visible in your breeder panel on the website.
4. Device permissions
The app asks only for what it needs. You may decline any permission — only the related feature stops working.
| Permission | Used for |
|---|---|
| Camera | animal photos and scanning QR labels on enclosures |
| Photos | picking an existing photo from your gallery |
| Microphone | dictating diary entries — see section 5 |
| NFC | reading NFC tags on enclosures, as an alternative to QR codes |
| Notifications | feeding reminders and pre-shed alerts |
| Internet | syncing with the server |
The app does not collect your location. It requests no location permission whatsoever. Rooms and racks are labels you type in, not coordinates. We also do not read your contacts, calendar or messages.
5. Dictating entries
Speech-to-text does not happen inside the app — it is handled by the speech recognition service built into Android. Depending on your device and its settings, the recording may therefore be processed on the servers of that service's provider, usually Google, under the terms of your system vendor's privacy policy. We receive only the resulting text: we do not store the audio, do not send it to our server and have no access to it. If you would rather avoid this, do not use the microphone button and type your notes instead.
6. Notifications
Feeding reminders and pre-shed alerts are scheduled by the app itself, on your phone, from your diary data. We do not send them from a server and we do not tell anyone when or about what you were notified. They also work without an internet connection. You set the reminder time and quiet hours in Settings → Notifications, and you can switch the whole thing off in your system settings.
7. Who we share data with
We do not sell your data and do not share it for advertising. The app contains no ad networks. We use:
- a server provider — the infrastructure running our API and database,
- Stripe — payment handling if you buy a paid plan. You enter card details directly with the payment provider; they do not pass through our servers and we do not store them,
- Google Play — app distribution and updates,
- Android's speech recognition service — only when you choose to use the microphone, as described in section 5.
QR scanning runs entirely on the device — the camera image is not sent anywhere for that purpose.
8. How long we keep data
Diary data is kept for as long as your account exists. You can delete an individual animal, entry or photo at any time. After account deletion, husbandry data is removed; it may persist for a limited period in backups, which we overwrite on a rotating schedule.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict its processing, port it, and object to processing. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
Account deletion: in the app via Settings → Account, or at reptimarket.pl/profil/usun-konto. Deleting your account is irreversible and covers data from both the app and the website.
10. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
11. Security
Connections to our API are always encrypted (HTTPS); the app refuses unencrypted connections. You can read more about the safeguards we apply on our Security standards page.
12. Changes
We will announce material changes to this policy in the app or by email. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this document.
